Trade names and synonyms
Pseudotropheus thin line, Pseudotropheus elongatus spot, Pseudotropheus Jewel spot, Pseudotropheus elongatus blue blotch.
Size
Males reaches around 11 cm, females are smaller.
Food
Shrimp mix.
Aquarium
300 litres (65 gal.) and above.
Habitat
Habitats with a rich layer of sediment at rocky shorelines.
Breeding
This mbuna is fairly easy to spawn.
General
Ps. sp."elongatus ruarwe" is a rather rough and aggressive cichlid which is best kept together with other cichlids from the mbuna group.
Distribution
At the east coast it's found at several locations around Mbamba Bay, and at the west coast between Ruarwe and Charo.
