Trade names and synonyms
Lamprologus leleupi, Lamprologus longior, Neolamprologus leleupi leleupi, Lamprologus leleupi leleupi, Neolamprologus leleupi melas, Lamprologus leleupi melas.
Size
Between 8 and 11 cm (3-4.5 in.) females smaller.
Food
Shrimpmix, brine shrimps and cyclops.
Aquarium At least 200 litres (45 gal.). Arranged with a lot of caves and hiding-places.
Habitat Rocky habitat with a rich layer of sediment, at depths down at 30 metres (100 ft.).
Breeding A substrate spawner which is fairly easy to breed. The spawning take place in narrow caves. The litters could vary between 40 and 100 frys.
General The male could behave rather aggressive against the females, this is why it's important to arrannge the aquarium whith plenty of hiding-places for the females.
Distribution Neolamprologus leleupi is found at several locations both at the east and west coast of the Lake Tanganyika.
