Size
Can reach a maximum length of around 10 cm (4 in.).

Food
Shrimpmix and brine shrimps.

Aquarium
Minimum 200 litres (45 gal.).

Habitat
This species lives in large schools above rocky floors rich of sediment.

Breeding
A substrate spawner which is easy to breed, the frys participate guarding the next comming generations.
The amount of a litter can vary beetween 30 and 100 frys.

General
Neolamprologus brichardi is a very popular Tanganyika cichlid which is most commonly found by the trading name "Princess of Burundi".
Old males sometimes get an indication of a hump in the forehead.
It is one of the most popular Tanganyika cichlids which have existed in the hobby since early 1970.

Distribution
This cichlid occurs all around the lake in rocky habitats.
