Trade names and synonyms
Pseudotropheus Magunga red, Pseudotropheus Msobo, Pseudotropheus Deep Tanzania, Pseudotropheus Deep Manda.
Size
10-12 cm (4-4.5 in.), females are smaller.
Food
Shrimpmix.
Aquarium
At least 300 litres (65 gal.).
Habitat
Rocky coastlines to the intermediate zon towards sandy floors, at depths down to 30 metres (100 ft.).
Breeding
A modest mbuna which is easy to spawn.
General
Metriaclima sp. ”msobo” is a relatively quiet and peacefull mbuna. The females are orange/yellow coloured while a full coloured male have a light-blue base with an irregular black/blue pattern. This pattern can vary substantial between different individuals.
Distribution
Found at the Tanzanian coast between Cape Kaiser and Lundu.
