Size
Length about 10-12 cm (4-5 in.).
Food
Shrimp mix.
Aquarium
At least 300 litres.
Habitat
Found in the shallow part of the intermediate zone between rocky and sandy floors at depths from 2 to 10 meters.
Breeding
Easy to spawn like mbunas in common.
General
Metriaclima aurora is a nice coloured mbuna which is very popular and common in malawi tanks.
Distribution
Found at several locations e.g. Likoma Island, Mara Point, Mbweca and Thumbi Point. Metriaclima aurora were also one of the first species that the cichlid exporter Peter Davies introduced at Cape Maclear where it nowadays have established a numerous population.
