Trade names and synonyms
Julidochromis dwarf.

Size
Up to about 7 cm (3 in.), females usually gets a bit smaller.

Food
Shrimp mix and spirulinaflakes.

Aquarium
At least 100 litres (20 gal.).

Habitat

Breeding
Easy spawned substrate spawner, but if you want to take care of the fry's you have to spawn in a separate breeding tank. In a community tank there won't survive many fry's.

General
Julidochromis transcriptus is the smallest representative for this genus.
All Julidochromis are sensitive for too big waterchanges, well established breeding pairs can split up. Therefore you shall change a small quantity (10-15%) of water often.

Distribution
Occurs at Bemba, Dem. Rep. Congo.
