Size
Males could reach 15 cm (6 in.), female maximum 13 cm (5 in.).

Food
Shrimp mix.

Aquarium
At least 300 litres (65 gal.), arranged with many caves.

Habitat
Rocky coasts.

Breeding
A substrate spawner which is fairly easy to spawn. The spawning takes place in narrow caves.

General
Chalinochromis popelini is rather aggressive against equals, because of that it's recommended to start with a smaller group of fishes.

Distribution
Found at several locations in the Lake Tanganyika.
