Trade names and synonyms
Aulonocara white top, Night Aulonocara, Trematochromis auditor.

Size
Males up to 15 cm (6 in.), females a bit smaller. Aulonocara's in aquariums most often grows larger than their counterparts in the lake.

Shrimpmix.

Aquarium
At least 300 litres (65 gal.).

Habitat
Rocky coasts with sandy floors.

Breeding
Fairly easy to spawn. Aulonocarafrys grows relatively slow.

General
Aulonocara hueseri is a nice and peaceful cichlid. Aulonocara's are shy cichlids, so they should not have too lively company. Suitable company are spieces from the genera Labidochromis, Copadichromis and Protomelas.

Distribution
Found around Likoma Island.
